Education

I graduated high school in May 2012 ranked 3rd in a class of 125. My final GPA was 4.2. I received numerous awards in English, Chemistry, Biology, Geometry, Advanced Chemistry, and Calculus. I am currently on leave from Butler University as a Pharmacy major. I am a junior maintaining a 3.7 GPA.

Experience

During my first semester at Butler University, I tutored one high school junior for about three months. He improved failing grades to well above passing and received A's in a couple of those classes. I continued tutoring him each semester until he graduated high school. I helped him gain a better understanding of English, Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra 2, Spanish, and general study skills by working anywhere from 1-3 hours each week with him. He will begin college classes in the Fall of 2014 and feels very confident in his ability to succeed at his university. I have also tutored my neighbors and classmates during all four years of high school. I have taken math classes up through Calculus 1 (limits, derivatives and anti-derivatives, or integrals). I have taken Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Biology, Reading and Writing for ACP Composition, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and I have a very scientific and mathematical mind. During my first two years of college I have taken a chemistry class each semester along with other building blocks to my understanding of the pharmacy career. However, these classes do not only apply to pharmacy and have given me a broader understanding of subjects that I can now help other students understand as well. I have enjoyed tutoring students since I started. Not only do I hope to teach my students about their classes, but I hope that they find a love for learning as I have. I enjoy spending time with students as a mentor, a role model, and a tutor because I enjoy seeing the "ah-ha!" moments when the tough classes "click". Tutoring students of all ages is beneficial for the students and myself as they understand new material and progressively improve their test scores, grades, and confidence.

Hobbies

Like most other college students, I love to spend time with my friends at college and meet up with old friends from home when I can. I enjoy spending time at the lake and going to baseball games during the summer. My school year is mostly composed of classes, studying, working, and naps every chance I get.
